Clark used to sell the Barrett Magwell. You might still find one in eBay. I have it on one of my 1911. It works just fine, but definitely not the best looking. Or you can get the Archangel grip panel magwell.

How does the ice magwell fit no gap at bottom of Frame to magwell? The Ice magwell is a bolt-on, no frame alteration design. The Mecgar magazine is too short and won't sit at all. The S&A magwell requires relieving the frame of some metal, so the Mecgar might fit. Edit: I forgot to mention that my frame is an older Armscor Hicap Frame and not cut for factory magwell. I bought it from them back in 2007. Sorry for not being clear.

The short Mecgar mags won't fit or the factory mags with basepad?

@dogtired Thanks. Seems like the S&A magwell is the only way to be able to use the short Mecgar P16 mags. I bought a couple of these mags just to learn it will not fit my RIA, with the Dawson Ice magwell installed. Too late to return them now.

Anyone know if the S&A magwell will work on the RIA Hicap frame? Are they the same in dimension with Para's?

I got in!! Thanks everyone for the encouragements. Well worth the 12 hour drive. I got squaded with the top shooters in open (super squad B ). I shot production. I learned a lot, both from watching and from their coaching. They were a a bunch of nice guys, really. I won't have it any other way. There's nothing like shooting and getting tutoring from the pros at the same time. Maybe next year I can plan it better and maybe, do better. It was a great experience indeed.

Okay guys, its decision time for me (for real!). Help me out please. I'm really wanting to shoot, not take pics. Should I stay or should I go? If you're in my situation would you go anyway? I apologize, but I'm in real agony over this.

I just called HQ. They said there are still 50 people at the wait list. My chance is dim. I might still go just to watch the pros shoot. I'll bring my camera instead.

I've been wanting to go for years! But with college and family stuff's, I never get to go. So I guess, really bad. I just wanna be there and experience it. It's the Nat's and American Hungunner World Shoot Off's are my dream matches.
