I switched to PD 115 JHP and now get a few upside down bullets every hundred or less. No problem with MG though. WTH?

Sarge if the PD 115s are like the PD 124s I think its the shape of the HP opening. I think its so flat that it can actually ride along the ledge instead of falling off to get tipped upright. I tired moving the ledge more and adjusting the angle, still can't avoid one or two per loading session.

I have a 2018 Hiperfire Competition trigger and it only comes with red (2.5 lbs pull) and green springs (2.0 lbs pull), never heard of the silver ones.

What pull weight does that give you?

I have an Eclipse model that came with Blue, Yellow and Silver(no paint) the silver ones give the lightest pull and provide the hardest hit. Last time I measured it I got about a 2lb pull.

Finally got in touch with Andy at Shooting Innovations...  They had a couple of 14.5" 9mm ramped barrels with 1/2 x 28 threads in stock, so I ordered one...  It should ship tomorrow and arrive later in the week.

Did you compare your 14.5" barrel against a 16" barrel with the same ammo?  Curious if the 14.5" barrel loses any velocity compared to a 16" barrel.

No, I havent shot my 16" barreled upper in a long time.  All I can tell you is that the SI 14.5 is faster than my JP 14.5.  With the same loads the SI is about 100fps faster depending on the weather and ammo temp.

I am a fairly experienced pistol shooter (M Class), but PCC and ARs are fairly new to me.

Are there any You Tube videos or other media that does a good job of discussing USPSA style rifle technique?

I want to start with proper technique and avoid building bad habits when I start extensive dry/live fire.

    Many thanks in advance!

It might be. I just tried the following:

    1) used settings to force stop the app and cleared the data and cache

    2) logged back in

    3) went to airplane mode (AM), restarted the app and tried to bring up the rulebook menu and got that "aw snap" message.

    4) enabled cell service (CS) and restarted the app and was able to bring up the rulebook menu.

    5) Went back to AM and got the "No cached data..." message when I tried to read the MG rulebook

    6) enabled CS and opened and read the MG rulebook

    7) closed the app and went back to AM

\8) I could read the MG book but could not read any other ("No cached data...")

If the rulebook menu item displays "ONLINE ONLY", it seems to indicate there is no local cached copy of the file.

Looks like its working now using some of these tips. Thanks ChuckS

You need to have previously opened the file when your device had connectivity to USPSA. The app caches a local copy. Try it. With wifi/cell service, select a book to read and then close the app, put your phone in airplane mode and go back and try to read the one you had previously selected.

I had opened the app and looked at the rule book several times while connected to wifi. Maybe it's a phone issue?

You're correct, but it is up to the MD to decide if it's allowed.  It's not guaranteed, just allowed.  I had mistakenly looked the PCC addendum instead of the proposed changes for 2019.

Yup. It's up to the MD. Any MD that wants to slow his/her match down by not allowing it is free to do so.

  8. As far as the OP goes.

It does not bother me as a competitor that a MD or stage designer chooses to make PCC do something different than the hand gun shooters. While I think it should be reserved for safety issues only, as long as its equal for all shooters in the division its not an issue in my eyes.

It does bother me as an RO having to deal with who starts where or who starts in what condition.

It does bothers me as a USPSA member to know that my fellow members are singling out a division based on their personal feelings and/or agendas.

Hey don't drag us poor revolverlero's into this!!! Revolvers don't take any longer to load/unload than other handguns.  What does slow things down is the unbagging/bagging of anything.  Probably a good thing the new rules on the table for 2019 allowing doing such into side berms for pcc.

I was not a fan of allowing pcc into a uspsa handgun match.

BUT, maybe it will push COF's to be more realistic, with tighter corners or less room to run, etc... and see if they are a really viable option?

After all the original intent was to test defensive firearms in quick scenarios.

The rules have allowed unbagging and bagging at the side berms for quite a while now.  If PCC shooters are not doing this, and are not standing at the starting area gun in hand as soon as scoring is done, they are doing it wrong.  Unless of course the bay/stage setup does not permit it or the RO's don't understand the rules. I am still seeing ROs make PCC shooters unbag at the line and then bag at Range is clear. Such a wast of time that is not the fault of PCC or its shooters. Its the fault of those particular ROs

I have one of Shooting Innovations 16" 9mm ramped barrels and really like it.

I'd like to buy one of SI's 14.5" 9mm ramped barrels, but they don't seem to sell them online (unless you buy their bolt, too)...  Their phone always goes directly to voicemail and they don't reply to emails...

I used email for contact when I was ordering a 14.5" with with 1/2X36tpi threading. It took a little longer, but I expected that considering they were not offering that setup as a standard item.

Looking to build a new upper.  I currently use the KVP light profile barrel which I like, but I'm interested in what else is out there at that price point.  < $150

I'm also looking to build a heavier upper so I'm not as concerned about the weight, but I don't want an M4 profile.

Let me know what you're using and any places besides joebobs, taccom, and primaryarms you like to shop (I like all of those, but I've already looked there)!

What mag system do you run? The Shooting Innovations ramped barrels for Glock mag guns are really nice

I installed this setup in a rifle length tube with the delrin spacer that comes with the JP SCS. This makes it a carbine length tube.

The bolt travel is not enough to load a round,  it seems to bottom out before that.

I checked: Delrin spacer, M10 wave spring, cut buffer, carbine spring, Blitzkrieg buffer.

Without the Delrin spacer all feels very soft.

    What am I missing?

Thats my old setup in the picture. I run a VLTOR A5 extension(buffer tube).

Were you having trouble reaching the standard QC10 mag release?

I'm not having any trouble with the standard QC10 mag release, but I wouldn't mind tightening up the magazine...  When I extend my trigger finger with my standard grip, my knuckle is right on top of the "(10" symbol on the QC10 mag release...  Seems like an even longer mag release lever would make me pull my finger back even further.

Wouldn't say I was having trouble, did have to shift my grip a bit though. The Odin did put the release in a better location for me with my gun/grip/hand combo.

  14. I installed an Odin on one of my QC10 Glock lowers. It did tighten up the mag a bit, not that I ever had an issue(malfunction) caused by the original set up. I did however have to stiffen up the mag release spring by adding a black neoprene insert. The slightest touch/bump while moving would cause a mag drop due to the increased leverage the Odin provides.

Here's a photo of the broken firing pin and my last new spare...  Not sure if you can tell from the photo, but they look black to me...  I bought them on August 15th, so they are fairly new.

    Taccom Broken Firing Pin.jpg

Looks about the same color as what I am talking about.  I think, not certain that the big head causes some hammers to hit the pin off center(hits the bottom of the head first), canting it in the firing pin channel/bore. The tip gets beat up trying to make it through the breach face. I have seen somewhere where Taccom suggests taking some material off the bottom of the head so that the hammer strikes the pin on the center line more like how a traditional pin takes the hammer hit. I know why Taccom builds them this way, but it doesnt play nice with my fire control group. That is why I had asked for more of the normal style pins with the new hardening like these here.
