  1. Who's up for a necro-post. So it didnt happen the way I planed, my second son was born in may of '09 and well as you other parents know I had no time for shooting. The XD is gone, I'm a Glock fan boy now. I just picked up my third Glock(34) today with the sole intention on shooting the Production division with it. I have a 19 and a 26 for carry and this ones only purpose is USPSA. I just wanted to revisit this post for all the tips everyone gave me. Thanks again and I hope to see you on the range.

  2. I have been a gun collector for a long time. I have guns that I "had" to have that have been in the safe for years. Some I didnt even remember/know I had. Thats comming to an end. I just finished going through the safes, closets and corners around to round up the herd for some culling. My plan is to reduce the herd to my two AR15s, .22lr bolt gun, Deer rifle, Glocks, and two old Colts. Once the culling is done, the funds from the cull will go into purchasing a G34 and associated gear for USPSA Production. With what I have lined up everything should be gone by Saturday. I already paid for a years membership to USPSA and have a decent shopping list put together. Wish me luck, maybe someday we'll get to shoot with each other.

  3. Thank you,

Sorry for the thread drift here:

Since I am pretty set on getting a 34 should I just go ahead and buy a 34 holster, my 19 should fit for now right? I will probably go with a CompTac holster and from previous holsters it seems that shorter Glocks always fit and retain well in Comptac holsters built for longer ones(as long as I dont get a Gen4 anyway).

  4. I dont compete yet, but I am going to a new shooter clinic next month to get started. I carry a G19 and want to use that, but I think I will end up with several problems. My carry gun has a grip plug, skate tape ontop of the slide, added stiplling under triggerguard, and my holster only retains the gun with a weapon light attached. This will be USPSA shooting, how bad is all this going to be? I can get a new holster, remove plug and tape but the stippling cant be undone. I plan on only rocking the g19 til I get a dedicated gun like a 17 or 34.

  5. Hello,

I lurk here quite a bit and I always see mention of the dry-fire drills on Predator Tactical. While I have always liked these drills my lap-top doesn't work well due to its small size and lack of decent volume output so... I plugged in the HDMI cable and put it up on the 47" TV. Wow! I think this may be the best way to get full use out of these drills. I highly suggest those with the ability to try it out. All of this got me to thinking though. Are there any DVDs out there where someone has simply run through stages with a video camera? Video'd a mover at the range? I am imagining it would look something like a FPS video game. I think if done right it would be a decent tool.

  7. Looking to shoot USPSA,location is North East Vermont, so far the closest club/matches I have found are here: http://www.gmps.ws/ It works out real well that my girl's best friend lives about 1/2 mile from the range. She can visit while I shoot :) I got the gun, looks like I need some more mags, good holster(just have my IWB everyday rig for it now), mag pouches. I have a decent range bag, elec. muffs and plugs, reloading equipment, eye pro. I have a whole room dedicated to gun "stuff" I have most of the support equipment needed. Im thinking I should pick up Brian's book, Anderson's books, some scaled down dri-fire targets, a timer, and some full weight dummy rounds, in addition to the above mentioned. Thanks for the quick replies and keep them comming!
