I'm running a HiperFire Eclipse trigger with the lightest springs.

I ordered three firing pins from Taccom...  I noticed that they were different from the firing pin that originally came with my bolt...  Tim said to keep the original in if it's working...  I don't know if the standard sized head firing pins are any better.

I'm breaking the very tip of the pin off.

What color are the pins you are having a problems with?  I found the silver big head ones were junk, talked to Tim about it and he sent me a sorta bronze/copper colored one with a small head that I have 4-5k on it now. I asked for some more, but that pin was just a "stop gap" he told me IIRC. He then told me the new big head ones would be that color(its a heat treat thing). I havent tried one of those yet.

  2. I used to love the view from behind a Cmore slideride, but after running a Holosun 510 Im sold on that optic. The view is almost as good as a Cmore, but the 510 doesnt chew through batteries, is waterproof, more durable and gives you some reticle options. The only down sides I see(when compared to the Cmore) is that its heavier and the dot shape is not as perfect to my eyes.  I tried a lot of tube style optics from Aimpoint, Vortex, ect. Never liked tubes for USPSA.

  3. I used one of the cheap Tapco ones from Amazon. I put a small/light carabiner on it and I have a key ring hooked to my belt about where you would wear a pistol holster. At Make Ready I just pull it from the gun and clip it to the key ring. Reverse procedure at the Flag command.  Simple, cheap, no fumbling.

I have been contemplating purchasing one of these to try out. Now that these seem to have been out for a while and have seen some use, does anyone have further thoughts on whether these work well or have other issues that would be relevant to the purchase?

While I am on the subject, does anyone know of an upcoming sale (like around Labor Day) or a discount code that I should wait for so that I can save a few $$ on the TTI +10? Thanks.

I bought one when they first came out. Got about 600rds problem free through it. I have since ordered 4 more.

How do you determine the best length of pull for an AR9 PCC rifle?

I'm 6'3" tall with long arms, so I pulled my stock all the way out when I first built my PCC rifle...  I've continued to shoot it that way without much thought...  Now I'm wondering if I should go shorter or longer?

Practice enough to find what works and what doesnt for you.

  6. I broke the head off of my Blitz buffer right after Area 7. When I called to get a replacement, I was told they were seeing this type of failure from time to time and asked if I was running it with the bolt weight removed as that is starting to seem like a common factor.   I was at the time running with the bolt weight removed, but after the conversation I had with them, I'll be keeping it in.

  7. I have had a LaserMax Spartan for a while now, I havent used it much but it has worked well. I have tried it mounted to the end of the handguard, in front of the optic on the upper, and on a 45* mount behind the optic on the upper. My favorite position is in front of the optic, but my shooting grip style means the beam gets blocked from time to time.  On the end of the hanguard is my second favorite, but my tube has no provisions to mount stuff so I have to rig something up. Right now its sitting on a 45* mount behind the optic and that works OK for a little as I have used it. It only get used for very awkward positions where I cant get my head behind optic.

    Did some weight measurements :
Bolt itself is roughly 12 Oz.
    Insert is around 3.2 Oz.
    Buffer is 5.6 Oz.
It seems that JP bolts runs without any added weight but has to be used with their Silent spring system.

JPs are heavier than normal bolts are with the weight removed. The hole JP cuts in them is a smaller diameter leaving more mass.

Why does it look like he's manipulating something with his right thumb between the upper and lower steel at 2:55 and 3:37?

Perhaps just sympathetic movement from taking his trigger finger out of the trigger guard?

This type of trigger speed is not uncommon for Max and really not that hard to replicate.

I'm assuming that's legal. I didn't see anything in the rules against it

There is actually a rule that allows it within PCC 10.5.18:

"Bump firing without mechanical aid is not penalized, provided there are no other equipment or safety infractions, the PCC is not doubling, and it can be safely fired in semi-auto mode."

Ok, i was RO'ing local match and the pcc fella was putting up amazing split times on targets.  like 0.09s splits.  i don't know jack about binary triggers,  but google thinks that it's more likely a binary than not.

How does one address the situation? I checked the rules and they are not allowed, but how would you go about checking?

Yes this is a serious question.  And no, i really don't know much about them at all, how they work, etc.

0.09s splits are easy to get without all these fancy binary setups. Just got to change the recoil system and/or how you hold the gun. Shoulder mounted bumpfire is a real thing if one cares to set the gun up and learn the technique.
JAFO is right as far as how the rules allow you to investigate such concerns

  12. Been with my club 7 years, never seen prone. Been Shooting the A7 championship for almost 7 years, never seen prone. Shot  a few Buckeye blasts, never seen prone. Shot a few VA/MD sectionals, never seen prone. Shot the Mid-Atl at least once, didnt see prone. Leans... those have never been is short supply both before and after USPSA turned PCC on.

  13. The video angle/shooting position is not nearly as good as the OP, but here is my gun. Blowback, 140PF ,124gr JHPs, .308 recoil spring, hydraulic buffer, wave spring, full length stroke, CK Arms comp. Gun weight is 7lbs, and I only weigh 135lbs soaking wet.

  14. Ordered one to try out, showed up today. Out of the box on the included spring I got 42 non-reloadable in it on a 10+ year old mag tube. It does have a slight hitch while loading around round 35-36 where the follower(my follower was/is tuned for use in a Taylor Freelance 41rd setup) transitions from the mag tube to the extension.  For those that are uncomfortable with modifying their followers, one thing I have found that works with all these big PCC mags that do this is you just hold the mag in your weak hand with thumb pressure down on the top round and smack the baseplate into the palm of your strong hand the follower will make the transition, keep holding that thumb pressure and add and another round, repeat as needed.

The tough part is it is going into battery when I cycle the charging handle.  It seems to happen middle of a magazine so it is hard to replicate

But it has done it when cycling the charging handle, correct? It might take some tries to duplicate it and figure it out.
When using loaded round shoot slowly and inspect whats going on with the gun after every shot.

  16. There is nothing in standard AR15 style 9mm rifles to stop the hammer from falling if the bolt is out of battery slightly.
If in fact you are getting out of battery blow outs, I would focus on why the bolt is out of battery.  Could be rounds loaded too long or otherwise out of spec not allowing the bolt to close fully. Could be some sort of cartridge damage while feeding. Could be chamber issues.  I have seen bolt bounce do this before, but if its doing on a manually fed round, its not bolt bounce.
