Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Ron, replied to my post on the SSA forums. Here is what he said:
  2. The video in the OP is from my YouTube account. That is a friend of mine shooting, he had never shot a stage with Texas Stars. I had assumed he had shot them before at other matches. We were just screwing around with our 9mm AR15 carbines. Shooting the stages with the carbines, instead of using our pistols. My run on the same stages: The match is at the Raahauges Range in Norco, CA. It was a SSA (Sports Shooting Alliance) "Steel Madness" bi-weekly match. I'll go ask Ron (Mr Twisted) the match director, from where he purchased those 6-7 plates stars.
  3. I saw this posted on AR15.com. Looks like an .410 shotshell upper conversion for an AR15, w/detachable mags. Wish there was more english info on the shotgun upper. Safir T14 (shotgun) Atis Testi www.icten.com.tr
  4. Problem is for PMAG March 2007 early production mags. Date code is below the mag catch = "03/07". Changes to the mold were done for April and later productions. "04/07 date coded and later should be fine... PMAG exchange - Deadline June 1st 2007 PMAG DIY fix video PMAG picture #1 PMAG picture #2
  5. I use a William fiber optic (FireSight) bead front sight on my 11-87. I found the rear FireSight blade, a little too distracting. I kept on trying to align the three fiber optic dots, every time I shouldered the shotgun. It slowed my quick short range target shots. I swapped out the Williams rear FireSight blade for an XS Express shotgun rear sight blade. For up close targets, I just use the front FireSight (the XS rear blade is easy to ignore). When I need long range slug accuracy, lining up the both sights is easy, fast, and accurate.
  6. Yea, not as big as the dimensions you quoted. Close.... They've got a shelving system (Tru-Rack) the actually holds the number of long guns they specify. Unlike some of the other makes.
  7. I installed the EZ loader myself on my 11-87 just last month. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I just took my time with a small hand file and took off just enough material and then some for clearance to fit the loader. It also helped that I had a spare 11-87 trigger pack I got off eBay, just in case I screwed the pooch. I emailed Dave (DMW) to see what he would charge to install his EZ Loader onto my 11-87. He said $25 to install, and he is only 30 minutes drive from me. Very reasonable price. I almost did it. But, after looking at it some more, I thought it was well within my amateur gun smithing capabilities. It function perfectly at the last 3-gun match and my test range session (150 rounds).
  8. Yes it's the same cart. Harbor Freight Welding Cart link Whomever assembled the cart for the HF picture, installed the tray backwards. It's supposed to hang from behind the handle. The way they have it mounted, blocks you from putting two welding tanks into the cart. lol A picture of outerlimits HF welding cart. He has the tray installed correctly. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...ost&id=6325 I just mounted the swivel tray a foot higher on the handle and painted it. Makes getting the items in the tray easier and give me more access to the items in the back of the wooden box. I changed all the hardware and improved on a few things. The wheel bearing are very loose on the axle. So, I shimmed them and also used a spacer, greased the bearing... so the wheels work properly (don't wobble on the axle) and they are silently now.
  9. Sorry to bump an old thread, but this thread is the one that sold me on getting the welding cart, over a: wagon/ jogging stroller/ dolly/ etc... My 3-Gun competition cart is nearly done. Should be done today. Cart is for me and my shooting buddy, to hold/ carry our long guns (two rifles & two shotguns, with one extra slot for a spare 5th long gun) and all our ammo and gear. The welding cart will work for us, as I take my p/u truck to most of the local matches here in SOCAL. Cart reconfigured and painted. I just replaced/upgraded all the hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, u-bolts, spacers, etc...) with better quality hardware from Home Depot, the hardware that came with the cart were low quality. I mounted the swiveling tray in a different position (about a foot + higher on the handle) and painted the unit OD Green. Made a (½" Birch) plywood box with two compartments below for: a range bag or three ammo cans, and a smaller compartment in the rear for more ammo & misc items. An upper angled shelf with dividers for the long guns butt stocks, an upper rack to secure the forearm/hand guards. Shelf on the back for a small cooler. http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/6576/3guncart026cw1.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/2833/3guncart034nc3.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/3336/3guncart037jo2.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/2114/3guncart035ib3.jpg I just threw a full compliment of long guns on and some misc range gear & ammo, to test the size/fitting and weight balance. Running around the backyard making it as rough as possible, to see what moves. The long guns didn't move a bit. I even flipped it completely forward/ horizontally to see if the long guns would fall off. They stayed put. http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/9122/3guncart012an8.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/1528/3guncart015ug8.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/3112/3guncart016ql1.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/860/3guncart017ya7.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/6458/3guncart021yc0.jpg http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/696/3guncart019at7.jpg The small cooler isn't sitting on the cooler shelf I built for it in the pics, but it fits nicely in the notch I cut out to access the smaller compartment in the lower level. This small cooler is only good for a six pack of cans. Need one a tiny bit larger/ taller, to fit Gatorade and water bottles. Going shopping today to look for a cooler more appropriate. The other ones I have are either too small (pictured) or too big. The long guns don't move at all, when secured with the small bungee cords and how they are angles by the lower shelf & upper rack. You can go off-roading with the cart and the guns stay put. Things are padded or covered with something soft, so that it won't mar the finish on the guns. I originally was planning to get a couple of those Double Fin Grip ATV rifle racks, but they weren't going to get here in time for this weekend's match. So, I improvised the top rack that holds the forearms/ hand guards. It's working out so well, that I'm not ordering them now. Going to finish up a few more ideas and give it a try tomorrow at the local 3-gun match. It'll probably be revised slightly as we get to try it out in real life. But, for the most part... it's probably going to work fine as is. I could make this unit fold up to fit in a large trunk. I replaced the cotter pins for the wheels with these quick release clips. So the wheels can come off in a matter of seconds. The top handle portion could have the nuts replaced with knobs instead. So you could take the four bolts out without using a wrench. Just an idea... if someone needs the cart to break down into smaller components.
