  1. It's amazing how many times I've seen that movie. It's just so easy to jump into it 30 or 60 minutes in. The Prestige - I see something new in this film every time I watch it. Rio Bravo Maverick Shawshank Batman Begins The Dark Knight ...and pretty much all the movies already mentioned here. It figures there would be a bunch of like minded individuals on this site.
  2. I think this is the best reality show by far. The old man cracks me up.
  3. I have a friend who refuses to watch other's golf swings because it throws off his personal rhythm. Do you think this applies to shooting?
  4. Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog all spectacular. Dollhouse...not so much. The writing just isn't as witty.
  5. I read through the post on GlockTalk and you're right, it sure doesn't seem like he has much interest in dealing with USPSA. I'm interested in this setup mostly for the larger grip. If Glock follows their past roll outs (RTF2) and introduces the 4th gen 17's and 22's first, would I be able to add a standard G24 slide to one of those and be legal in Limited?

    X5 in limited?

Has anyone worked on an extension for the 14rd factory mag? Trimmed followers? Modified one of the 20rd P226 aftermarket mags?
  7. I live in a area with two local matches a month. One is usually 70-80 shooters and 6 or 7 stages and takes about 6 hours. The other is 30-40 shooters - 4 stages and takes about 3 hours. Is this about how long a match should last? I've been thinking about driving to the another city in my state that has more matches in hopes of the them being faster but I'll be adding an hour drive time each way. I've only shot a handful of matches and really like this sport but it seems like I'm there forever for only a few minutes of shooting.
  8. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Going through drills, the best way for me was sliding my left thumb down the grip and hitting the release. It was substantially slower if I let go with my left hand then tried to reacquire the mag release. You're not going to be making Travis Tomasie mag change videos but it's managable with practice. But with that little quirkiness and 8rd mags...
  9. Like a lot of people, I picked up one of the P7 police trade ins. I seem to shoot this gun extremely well no matter how fast I shoot. Yes, I'm new to the sport and yes, I normally outrun my sights trying to shoot this fast. Why is the P7 so controllable? The steel frame? The grip angle? The nice factory trigger? Is there a more practical pistol with these characteristics available to shoot in production?
  10. Dumb question but...which screws are the set screws? My cmore didnt come with any instructions.
  11. Hi, I'm new to uspsa shooting but I've shot for a while. I've recently competed in two matches and I'm hooked. I shot a strait stock Sig 228 in production and did better than I thought would but I'm concerned that I might hit an equipment wall in the near future. A few questions: 1) If I stay in production, can I be competitive with a trigger job on my Sig or am I fighting an uphill battle against the glocks and XDs? 2)If I were to move to limited, are there any choices other than S_Is or Glocks? Does anyone use a HK USP or a Sig X-five? Are there any 140mm mag extentions for these or are you just giving up too many rounds to be competitive? Are there any other manufactures worth looking at? Thanks
