Paul49
Put a Nordic +5 on my 1301 Competition less than a year ago. Took it apart yesterday for deeper cleaning of the gun and found the spring rusting on a few coils. Only used it once on a rainy day and even then it was under a roof except for two to three stages. What did I fail to do that might have prevented this? What will restore it, or should I just replace it? Are there any consequences for the inside of the tube? Never lubed it, because didn't want it to be a dust magnet.
amccallister
Just replace the spring. They're like 7 bucks or less from Nordic. I probably replace mine 4-5 times a year just to make sure I have a pretty fresh one in there before a major match. As far as preventing problems in the future, definitely take it apart and dry the spring and inside of tube if your gun gets wet at all.

logiztix
Is there a vent hole in your follower? Feeding wet shells in the rain will otherwise rust out the innards if the moisture gets trapped.
