Here's a picture of Roy putting on a demo somewhere:

Talk about old school.

He is like the anti-Norm Abram.

No $1,500 tablesaws.

No cordless drills.

No $5,000 plus Timesaver brand wide belt sanders.

Just good ol' fashioned sharp steel and elbow grease.

The GF wanted to get a DVR to record her favorite show, The Biggest Loser.

Ha ha he he... now I get to record my shows. :D

I've always enjoyed the antique tools he drags out to explain 'how it used to be done'. Then a couple of years ago while visiting my Mom in Waleska, GA, one of my brothers told me about the museum at nearby (2 miles) Reinhardt College. They have a staggering collection of antique hand tools at the "Funk Heritage Center".

Off we went for a few hours of viewing the tools and their Indian art collection. As I entered the tools section I instantly thought of Roy.

I enjoy that guy too...

Watching his show always reminds me of the old MASH episodes when they would go to the Korean wood worker to have something made. On one show he grabs a board on his work table and says something like 'this is my latest masterpiece'. They say, ' it looks like a 2X4', he smiles and says, 'used to be round'...
