CSEMARTIN
Has anyone tried using a glow in the dark marker with their brassmaster?
ErikW
No.... would it have any advantage in the daylight, or are you just looking to pick up brass at night and in dark houses?
shred
I'm thinking an ultraviolet marker would be cool. Wait until dark, turn on a UV light and wander around picking up the glowing things (making sure they aren't scorpions-- they glow under UV too)
CSEMARTIN
Erik, I have been wondering if it would be an advantage at night. I shot my first IDPA match about a month ago- half was during the day and the other half was at night.
TheOtherErik
I wonder if the glow chemicals would stand up to the heat.
CSEMARTIN
I've wondered that too, but there has got to be a way to mark brass so you can identify it in the dark.
shred
I wonder if the glow chemicals would stand up to the heat. I don't know about current UV and/or Phosphorescent inks, but there are a number of minerals that do one or both. Most of them were molten at some point, so technically it's possible. Come to think of it, glow-in-the-dark plastic things were likely squirted into a mold whilst hot and goopy, and white-bleached fabrics flouresce nicely even after a trip through the dryer.
