Chriss Grube
The bullet you're shooting generally determines which is the better twist. With 168 and 175 it is a toss up. I have both twists and damned if i can tell the difference in accuracy.

tightloop
Generally speaking, you want the minimum amount of twist that will stabalize the projectile. The heavier the projectile, in each caliber, the faster the twist needed to stabalize it. So as Benny says, 1-12 for 168 and 1-10 for heavier. I don't really know if I would get all in a huff if my 308 came with a 1-10 barrel from a quality maker. The lighter bullets will stabalize with the faster twist, but if you shot heavy bullets like 180 or 200 gr stuff in a 1-12 barrel, it might not do well. So, faster is ok for all bullet weights, but slower is only ok for the lighter weights. Make sense?
