lndshrk
Instructions say "the excess portion of the Holster Body can be cut off to prevent snagging on range equipment". Not being particularily mechanically or hobby craft inclined, exactly what is the best way and tools necessary to do this. Would think hobby saw and sand paper could do the job. Please help, Thanks! Seth
The BEST way? 5 axis milling machine. (simple saw, a hand file to knock off the burrs and 600grit) Edited July 4, 2009 by Seth
vetts1911
Yeah that is the way to go with a fine hack saw and make sure you stay true. You can sand it even and then a little bit of heat from a lighter will work to give it a seal or smooth surface. If you ever get a 6" gun you will wish you didn't cut it off. STI2011
If you ever get a 6" gun you will wish you didn't cut it off. That's the only reason I haven't chopped mine yet. I just know that right after I do it, something will cause me to switch guns and the new gun won't fit.
Merlin Orr
I chopped mine with a chop saw to allow a 6" to fit a 5" holster. Works fine now for the 5 and 6" guns.
