CZ 75B Slide Stop Question

Been reading alot on how you should always keep a spare slidestop because of breakage. Why is the failure rate so high? People using too heavy of a recoil spring?(Slaming into battery) Or is it just the design? I dont think it would be from a light recoil spring. Thanks Guys

it really isn't that frequent.

Have a friend break a couple, I have broken none. have heard a couple of instances on various forums..see more posts about people asking why.l

while you're at it..you'll read about people breaking trigger springs too.

Mine is 18 years old, still using the original slide stop. My buddy with a 75 SA broke his, but he did tend toward heavy recoil springs. I had my trigger return spring replaced for a heavier one. I carry a bag with spare parts for mine [a good idea for any gun] My bag has:

1 slide stop

1 XP extractor spring

3 new mag followers

1 mag base plate

extra fibre optic

1 14# recoil spring

1 XP mag spring
