It depends. Current production .38acp brass is the same as .38 Super brass from most manufacturers (like Starline), but older stuff wouldn't have the same amount of meat in the web and could lead to case blowouts with Major ammo. The external dimensions are the same. Back when I was a poor college student I used .38acp brass for steel loads and it worked just fine. R,

i get some 38 auto mixed in with my 38 super stuff. i load it and to date no problems.

But I know for a fact the old stuff would bulge like a Zeppelin in major 38 super
