  1. The foster daughter is in Miami and she has blown the rear end out of her 2000 GMC Sierra 1500. Does anyone have a contact for a reasonable wrecker yard in the area?
  2. OK for most airlines you are allowed 2 bags with each bag not exceeding 50 pounds and 11 pounds of ammo. your ammo cannot be packed with the gun. When i traveled I would put the guns into one suitcase and the ammo in the other with my gear and i would pared my gear down so my suitcase was at 50 pounds. I would distribute my clothes between the two bags again keeping in mind the 50 pound limit and my carry on. The nice thing about carry on is you can have two bags like a backpack and a briefcase so a lot of clothes in the backpack and briefcase had my tablets and other small items. With a PCC i would put the rifle and pitols into a rifle case and if i had any weight allowance left i would put gear and/or clothing in with it. In my suitcase i would put gear and again depending on my weight allowance clothes. I would probably use a propers on board suit case so i would know that it would fit in the overhead and pack my clothes in there and then in my briefcase i would put my tablet and other small items. Do not try to put gear or ammo into your carry on. I had a friend who tried to fly with her mags in her carry on. she was escorted back to luggage to put them into luggage (:extra charge since she had already sent two bags down the chute.) I hope that helps.
  3. Places to try while there. Ths sizzling grill is always good on the north end of Lake Wales. For a steak Norby's is great. Don't be put off by the outside view. MAnny's steak house is also good. For Barbeque Fat Boy's south of town on teh way to the range was always good. The Holiday Inn was the place to stay at.
  4. Do you shot IPSC? If you do you have the gear you need. If you don't you need a 9 x 19 or larger handgun, at least 50 rounds in mags, a belt, holster, mag pouches, eye and ear protection. As well to take a firearm onto the USA a foreign alien you will need a form 6 from the US ATF as well as a Canadian ATT that allows you to go to any border crossing.
  5. Howdy Guys I am going to be driving down to Salt Lake City in a 35 motor home to shoot the Utah State match August 29/30. From there i am going to heading east to shoot the US IPSC Nationals in Frostproof Florida. I am debating which way to go whither to take the I 80 out of SLC to Denver or should i head south to Vegas and go through Flagstaff? since i am travelling in the motor home i would like to know what each route is like concerning passes etc. any help would be appreciated.
  6. I asked him about new springs and followers and he told me there weren't any. i am now very reluctant to use the mag in a match.
  7. awhile back someone posted a link to a place in Texas that made a rifle rack that sat underneath the rear seat of a pickup truck. Of course now i can't find the link. If anyone could help me out i would appreciate it.
  8. We had a fellow shoot the Canadian Nationals a couple of years in one.
  9. Thanks Dustin. I am in Contact with Sean was just hoping you had an inside track :}
  10. Dustin, any idea of when you are going to start shipping to Canada?
  11. Does anybody have a current method to contact Joel? if so could you please PM it to me or let Joel know I am trying to contact him.
  12. bwikel do you have any pictures of this? sounds like a good upgrade.
  13. Short answer is you need authorization to bring your guns into Canada even if passing through. If you really want to the best thing to do is contact the Canadian Firearms Centre at 1-800-731-4000.
  14. Universal Ammo from Frank Garcia works well in my Trubore.
  15. are we going to be able to work and shot the open nationals like Utah or are we going to have to work the limited nationals so we can shoot the open nationals?
  16. It's been done! they use to use these to fly into Lethbrdige Alberta Canada

  19. The rule is that as long as the pocket is on or behind the hip bone it is legal to pull a mag from it. Most people tend to look at the hip bone towards the back instead of towards the front of the hip bone. i got shown your hip bone is about 2 inches and really makes a difference on placement. There has been numerous arguments about you have to use all of the mags off your belt before you can use pockets but there is no rule supporting this.
  20. Mistake number one is that you are looking for a gun to buy her. The best way to get her to start shooting and to enjoy it is to let her pick out a gun that SHE likes. I see way to many husbands go out and buy a gun they like and then they can't figure out why the wife looses interest. Woman perceive things differently then men and this includes how guns feel and react in their hands. What i would suggest is that you get her out to a few practice nights and encourage her to try everybody's gun (spring for a jug of beer afterwards) and she which ones she likes. do this over a few nights narrowing down her selection till she finds the gun SHE likes. That is the gun you want to buy her. Also if you have woman shooters in the club get her talking to them as well. Their advice is priceless if you want her to start shooting and to enjoy it.
  21. Howdy guys I need some information on Glock 40 mags. First off let me start off by saying that i know very little about Glocks. So if i appear to be a dummy then you are probably right! Ok, first question. is it true that Glock gen 3 40 cal mags are subject to bulging? the reason why is that i got a customer some used mags and they are not dropping free from his gun. he is telling me this is a problem with Gen 3 mags. Next question is there any way to fix these mags? Last question is who is the best person to deal with to get new Gen 4 mags from? Walter
  22. Yes it does. I asked the same question when Canada lost it's exemption for using 140 mags in Standard. All mags must fit in the box when in the gun.
  23. howdy guys I am kind of curious about some brass i found mixed in with my 38 super stuff. Initially i though tit was super comp brass but then when i looked at it i noticed it was bulged quiet a bit with the bullet seated. Looked at the head stamp and it says 223. Looks to be about 25 mm long and maybe about 32 caliber in diameter. anyone know what sort of wildcat this was from?
  24. My Rudy's are the best investment i have made in shooting glasses.
