joecichlid
Timanal, I plan on shipping half (if not all) of the ammo I am going to need for the match to one of the shooters in the area through UPS. The rest will be packed in my bags. You might look into that as an option. Joe W.
Big Guy
How about shipping the ammo to the hotel or range?
joecichlid
Big Guy, you might contact the hotel you are going to stay at and ask if they would be able to hold a package (ammo) for you until you check in. As for the range itself I have a feeling that once the match gets closer there will be information about that. Joe W.
mactiger
We are currently working on arranging a shipping address for ammunition. The match hotel, the Orleans, will charge you by the pound for receiving your ammo, so we are looking for an alternate place to have it shipped. As soon as that's arranged, we'll put it on the web page. If you aren't staying at the Orleans, I'd advise checking with your hotel to see if they will receive and store the ammo for free, or if they will charge. joecichlid
mactiger Thank you very much for the advice. I just called Circus Circus and they do charge a handling fee for packages. Anything up to 15 pounds they charge $7.00, 16 pounds to 30 pounds they charge $10. Circus Circus will accept packages and hold them for up to a month in advance as well. Joe W. joecichlid
Boz, I know just what you mean. If I have to ship anything, which I have a feeling I will, I will gladly pay for them to hold it for me. The nice thing is that they will hold it for up to a month before I get there. lol Joe W. Big Guy
mactiger, do you recall how much $$ per pound they charge at the match hotel?
mactiger
mactiger, do you recall how much $$ per pound they charge at the match hotel? I don't, but I can find out. It was relatively expensive, IIRC, which is why we were looking for an alternate receiver. Troy
Rob Boudrie
If you aren't staying at the Orleans, I'd advise checking with your hotel to see if they will receive and store the ammo for free, or if they will charge. Vegas hotels (at least the big ones) are remarkable consistent in following some business practice unique to that city Significant charge for receiving a package or envelopes Surchage for internet (as sitting your room using the internet is considered stealing from the casino) Closing the hotel at about 6PM (same reason) A mandatory "resort fee" that allows them to quote rooms for $5 below the actual rate they charge You may find a smaller hotel that will accept packages without charge, but I expect all of the big strip hotels will follow the standard Vegas customs. joecichlid
According to the Nationals web site they are trying to find another option for ammo delivery. From the sound of things as soon as they are able to arrange it there will be something posted to the site. No matter where my ammo is shipped to I will be sure to be tracking it daily. Joe W.
