So I take it this is considered a long/wide frame?

Everything else equal, how would that pistol shoot/feel compared to one with a short/wide dustcover, e.g.

Looking at SV's gunbuilder web site, they've got even more frame options.

To further confuse you and complicate matters, you can put a standard (front scalloped) slide on long/wide frame. And you can have a light bushing barrel or a heavy bull barrel. Or an even heavier tungsten sleeved barrel. The possibilities are endless. There's no consensus on which is best. Looking at the top guns at the nationals, they're all over the place with the combinations.

STI manufactures standard/wide frames as well as standard and long/wide frames.

I bought my STI EDGE from Dawson's and I am at a round count of over 3000 rounds with no failures to feed. The only mod I made to the pistol was to replace the night sights I ordered on the pistol with a standard rear and a Dawson fiber optic front (.090). Buying from Dawson is almost like buying a custom pistol without the custom pistol price.

Best piece of advice from above...shoot as many pistols as you can to find out which pistol version/gunsmith you like the most...and then buy that one.

Just to muddy the waters and sow confusion, SVI does indeed make a long/narrow dustcover, but only on their single-stack frame.
