Now my main concern is can I modify my G35 extended mag release? I know plenty of owners complain about the edges being sharp, I know I learned my lesson from it. I sheared a good pencil eraser size chunk off my weak hand. If I go and file down the edges to dehorn the release will this cause any issues. warpspeed Posted January 4, 2009 Share Posted January 4, 2009 (edited) I think you are OK to make the mag release smaller/rounder by removing material just not making it bigger or adding a button to it. you can always email HQ and ask. Oh, and measure the width of the magwell. There is a height to the box as well, 1 5/8" IIRC. I had to trim mine on my STI 2011 to make it fit.
