650 Versus 1050 For 9mm

I'm looking to start loading 9mm luger and will probably be doing fairly large quantities. Funny, when I talk to the guys at Dillon, they try to steer me to the 650. I'd really be intersted in the opinion of experienced 9mm reloaders on this question. My first 1050 in 45 was such an improvement over the 650, it's hard to describe, even though the one I bought was junk and had to be competely rebuilt. I just wonder if the small size of the 9mm case introduces another variable I'm not aware of.

What? There's another press besides a 1050

If you have the cash then I don't think there is a question. I've loaded hundreds of thousands of rounds on my 1050 - Calibers include 9x21, 9x23, 9x25, 9 Largo, 9 Super comp, 45 ACP and 40 S&W. I won't lie - changing calibers is a bit of a pain in the ass (especially going from a small pistol primer round to a large) but once set up correctly the things are like energizer bunnies - they go and go and go.

As is obvious - I love mine!
