skorittnig
I know it has been covered many times- and I have performed many searches on this topic. However, I would like to know what the diameter measurement is on STI grandmaster barrels. I do not have the gun yet- so I am trying to prepare for reloading. I have been looking at the montana gold .356 fmj's and .355 jhp's. I understand that the .355 can be harsh on the barrel (gas blowing past the barrel)? What are people using these days? are you finding that one is more accurate than the other (.356 vs. .355) or (jhp vs. fmj)? Thanks, skorittnig
shooterbenedetto
Most of us shoot .355 bullets. When you have about 50k-75k rds thru then shoot .356 to get the accuracy back! after 150k-200k I re-barrel and change the slide. Always shoot round nose because of better feeding but FMJ are very accurate! I only use FMJ on big matches. larry cazes
The .38 124 grain Montana Gold JHP is the most accurate bullet I have ever loaded for ALL of our open guns and it feeds great as well. It is extremely popular among those who have tried it. You cant go wrong with them.
dansy
Shooting the MG 9mm .355 JHP out of my 38 SC Blaster's accurate as well....will move to 356 when my barrel's loose accuracy.
