1050 primer seating

Recommended Posts

As Merlin said, it seats on the downstroke to a depth that you determine.

As for feel, I cannot "feel" it at all when resizing cases and have pressed lage primers into small primer pockets without the slightest indication beyond the occasional BOOM!

If your press feels like sex, I need to get a picture of your special modifications...

To further elaborate on the joys of flying the RL105 would forever brand me, to all here, a Dillon Blue Pressophile...

To wax eloquent on the pure unbridled sensual pleasure of the up stroke and the down stroke and the up stroke and the downstroke and....... of my 1050 would be cause to ban me from this Forum I love so much.....

 You get the picture I'm sure....

The SDB, 550 and 650 all manually prime at the end of the upstroke. You determine the primer depth by how hard you press the handle forward.

The 1050 seats the primer on the downstroke while you are re-sizing the case. The depth is constant for each primer since it is mechanically determined by the machine.
