joecichlid
I am the web master for The Mid-West Pinblasters and I would like to get a collection of links together for other clubs web sites. If you shoot with a pin club and would like, feel free to send me the address to your site and I will gladly add it to our clubs site. Joe W. Tom Mainus
http://www.schultzgunclub.com/bowlingpinshoot.html Here is the link to our Bowling Pin page at Schultz's. Nothing fancy, we are one of the few in this area that still do it. Tom
joecichlid
Tom, thanks for the information. I have your clubs web site linked to The Mid-West Pinblasters web site now. Feel free to check it out sometime. Joe W.
mwx40x40
I noticed you shoot pins with the shotgun as well. Any problems with splash back from birdshot? Or due you use a heavier shot? Same Distance?
Patrick Sweeney
Anything smaller in diameter (higher in shot number) than #4s will bounce back. The smaller the diameter, the more you get back. If you want to load your own, take any standard skeet or trap load and substitute #4s for the #7.5s or whatever. add a bit of choke, and you're golden. joecichlid
We handle bird shot quite simply, we don't allow it. No pellet sized smaller than OOOO Buck, most use OO Buck, or slugs. The tables we use are well built out of steel and larger buck shot and slugs has never been a problem. All Minor Pistol is shot from mid-table, Major Pistol as well as Open, Shotgun, Lever Action and the like are shot from the front of the table with all .22 shot at the back of the table or with our short (2'X8') tables. With the full sized tables it is 24 feet from the rail to the front edge of the table. Joe W.

We have steel tables also , so they ought be able to handle the abuse. Haven't thought about Lever Action Rifles (pistol calibers).
joecichlid
Pistol cal if you like but for some real fun try shooting 30-30 or even 45-70 at pins. Talk about some real pin action. lol Our club meets every week rain or shine. There are only a few reasons that would keep us from shooting, too much ice to get to the range, heavy lightning, winds strong enough to blow the pins over or one of two holidays. The holidays being Christmas day and Valentine's day. lol Other fun events include 8 pin revolver with no back up gun, 9 pin semi-auto with manditory reload, 11 pin .22, team hostage pin (two target pins behind a colored "hostage" pin and you get dinged 2 seconds for every hostage shot), .22 with empty shotgun hulls as targets, .22 with bottle caps as targets, .22 Revolver and just about anything else you can think of.
