I would like to convert it to be an open gun for practice purposes. I know some of you all have looked into this and/or done it, so I would like some info on where to find specific parts. Western Arms got a ton of replica guns available for sale in the US but the para ord models aren't available for us export. i wonder what's the story there. WDB Posted December 29, 2007 Share Posted December 29, 2007 I have a 5.1 as well and was thinking the same. I don't see why you would need all the conversion parts though. That "comp" ain't doing anything but looking good. The top link below is parts diagram for the mount (FYI 4000 yen is about $35). I would imagine shipping would suck but, who knows. The second link is info on how to order the mount. The third link is for a red dot that is on sale for $30 , don't know when sale is over. So I figure for around 100 bones you should be set up. Have to find someone to D/T the frame though. If i decide to make a replica of the current open gun i have, i'm gonna try to get the weight as close as possible to the real thing.
