Julien Boit
The brand new Smith and Wesson pistol is nothing but a clone of the 1911 design except for the extractor . What will be the next step : A double stack all steel HI-cap pistol ? A modular frame half plastic half steel ? I wonder
spook
I agree with you Julien. I'm just wondering why you put this post in the "What I LIKE"forum
rhino
Given the current market in the USA, there's plenty of room for another 1911 as long as the quality is first rate and the price point is reasonable for the features and level of refinement. I've not yet seen or handled one of the S&W 1911s, but they're probably really nice guns. If so, they are a welcome addition to the market. If they turn out to be really good guns, they may raise the bar for the rest of the manufacturers much in the same way Kimber did a few years ago. The "postKimber" Springfield Armory 1911s are much better guns overall than the "anteKimber" guns. The same is true for Colt's (if you can find one!). Competition in a free market is a good thing. Steve Anderson
Isn't the extractor the most cussed, discussed and bitched about part of the 1911? If so, the lim 10'ers have a new option. It's a good thing. PLUS, it may get sw even more comitted to uspsa/ipsc shooting...that's also a good thing. SA
