STEEL CHALLENGE SHOOTERS’ ASSOCIATION (SCSA)

STATE MATCH

20 OCT 2007 (The usual 3rd Saturday)

LIMITED TO FIRST 60 REGISTRANTS (I HAVE 44 AS OF 10 OC 07)

$20 PER ENTRY (Payable at the door)

INCLUDE NAME, CLASS, AND ANY SPECIAL RECOGNITION (JR, SR, FEM . . .) AND IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF STATE (YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO COME SHOOT WITH US, AND YOU MAY WIN THE MATCH – JUST NOT THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP)

SET-UP 7:00 TO 9:00 (THIS IS ALREADY COVERED WITH VOLUNTEERS -- COME AT 11:00)

R.O. SHOOT 9:00 – 11:00 FINISH AFTER MATCH IFF NECESSARY

R.O. LUNCH 11:00 – 12:00

REGISTRATION 11:00 – 12:00

SHOOTER MEETING 12:00

MATCH STARTS 12:30

IT ENDS WHEN IT ENDS (PROBABLY 4:30)

SCORES WILL BE ENTERED AND CALCULATED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE MATCH

RESULTS WILL BE E-MAILED AND POSTED AS WELL

6 STAGES ARE PLANNED (ALL FROM OFFICIAL SCSA RULES)

· SMOKE & HOPE

· SHOWDOWN

· OUTER LIMITS

ROUND COUNT = 150 PERFECT/CLEAN MINIMUM, (BRING 300 PER ENTRY)

CLASSES WILL BE THE SAME AS WE HAVE BEEN USING THE LAST 5 YEARS (EXCEPT RIMFIRE: 22 OPTICAL SIGHT AND 22 IRON SIGHTS WILL BE TWO SEPARATE CLASSES)

CLASSES ARE:

Production; Double, and “Safe” action. All GLOCKs, Beretta 92, SIG 229, 226 . . .

Limited; Single action 1911’s with iron sights, no compensators. Springfield XDs.

Open; Anything goes (semi-automatic).

Carbine; CF PISTOL calibers, any sights NO MAGNUM CALIBERS.

22 Pistol Optical; .22LR, any sights.

22 Pistol Iron; .22LR, IRON sights.

22 Rifle/Carbine; .22LR, any sights.

Revolver; for all revolvers, iron sights.

Cowboy; SASS type guns, any sights.

GSSF; Production guns, but WITHOUT the holster.

NO MONETARY PRIZES; WE WILL PRESENT MEDALS AND/OR TROPHIES . . .

OTHER THAN STARTING AT NOON, THE MATCH WILL BE VERY SIMILAR TO A REGULAR MONTHLY MATCH

RAIN OR SHINE (LIGHTNING WILL DELAY)

LIMIT = 2 ENTRIES. ANY TWO WHERE HOLSTERING DOESN’T CLASH

ENTRIES MUST BE IN DIFFERENT CLASSES FOR STATE MATCH

ENTRIES MAY BE SHOT IN ANY ORDER

THERE WILL BE 6 SQUADS

THE SAME R.O. WILL RUN ALL SHOOTERS THROUGH A SPECIFIC STAGE

PRE-REGISTRATION IS FREE, AND HIGHLY ENCOURAGED, BUT PLEASE DO SHOW UP IF YOU DO PRE-REGISTER . . .

NO SIDE MATCHES

NO FOOD WILL BE FOR SALE (UNLESS I GET A VOLUNTEER . . . !!!)

WATER AND POP SHOULD BE AVAILABLE, AS USUAL

THE CLUBHOUSE WILL BE OPEN FOR RESTROOM FACILITIES, AS USUAL

MIKE FICHMAN OF SCSA APPROVED THE MATCH DURING PHONE CONVERSATIONS IN JUNE, BUT WE NEVER EXCHANGED OFFICIAL FORMS – THEREFORE, THE MATCH SHOULD BE VIEWED AS UNOFFICIAL

THE STAGES WILL NOT BE LAID OUT WITH A TRANSIT. IF TIME PERMITS, DISTANCES WILL BE CHECKED WITH A TAPE MEASURE.

BECAUSE THERE NO REAL PRIZES, EQUIPMENT USE WILL BE HONOR SYSTEM. (BUT SUBJECT TO R.O. SCRUTINY)

MINIMUM magazine requirements :: 5 PER GUN.

The RO's will enforce the 30 second rule for this match. If you are having jamming problems, or your front sight fell off . . . The RO will call UNCLE. Your time will be recorded as 30 seconds for the string, and you can Load and Make Ready (LaMR) for the next string. Hey, it may save the 5 rounds of ammo you will need for the last string of stage 6 !!!

Who is going from down our neck of the woods?

I'm sure Clyde is and I figured you would be a sure bet with your round gun. I thought about it but I don't know how much shooting I'll be doing now that I tried to amputate my thumb today! :surprise:
