Kettlebell
Can anyone recommend a good scope mount for mounting a Holosight to the Benelli? I have used the search funtion and found nothing. I know B-Square and Aimtech sell mounts for the Benelli but have not tested either. Would drilling and tapping the reciever be a better option? How do the barrel mounted dotsights compare with the same sight mounted on the reciever of a shotgun? Kettlebell
BillL223
The Benelli receiver is aluminum and I have seen mounts that were just drilled and tapped in the top fall off in the middle of stages. The mount I use is the Da-Mar found on page 261 of the Brownells catalog #55. I have shot thousands of rounds with this with no problems. This does require drilling and tapping 6 ea. 6-48 holes.. gm iprod
Benelli also make a Picatinny rail for the M1 S90 practical. This is a very good fit for the action, and comes with 5 or 6 screws. I have also fitted weaver #53 to some guns. Use good screws and some good Loctite.
SVI4ME
I have the Practical with the rail. I have a Holosight attached and it works well.
rishii
I had a aimtech, drilled and tapped it for a side saddle, which added a lot more stress than it was designed for, and the damn thing broke . it is well made, the down side is you gotta be real carefull while tighting it. too tight and you'll squeeze the receiver, too loose, well you get the picture.
