What magazine pad or extension seems to work the best for most when monopod-ing a rifle off the magazine? The standard 30rd mags are a little short for me when using them to monopod the rifle? I have a pair of Arredondo monopod extensions for USGI mags and the work but wondering if there is another better option that is more stable or taller? Also the USGI mags tend to be a little wobbly in the magazine well. What magazines tend to be a little snugger fitting taking some of the wobble out?

Does anyone have any suggestions or techniques for the best way to go from standing to prone? What seems to be the smoothest and most consistent technique for getting into the prone position and on target quickly without tearing up your body or gear? Monopod, bipod, or even with a Ching type sling? Knees first? Squat to single hand stand with support hand? Same as with pistol, but with rifle tucked under firing armpit? Others?

Does anyone have experience with the Armorally 55gr FMJ bullets? They are listed as US manufactured for them. A good bit cheaper by the 1000 than the Hornady 55FMJ. I have had great success with the RMR 75 3GH for longer range work and they to are very reasonable priced but don't see the need for extra cost and recoil over a cheaper 55FMJ.

It sounds like the Volquartsen options are the "easy button." Do you both prefer the Tandemkross flat trigger over the curved wide VQ? Do the magazines directly from VQ tend to run better in their pistols than stock Ruger magazines?

What kind of mechanical accuracy can be expected from the MKIV Lite vs the Volquartsen LLV-4 4.5" upper / Mamba / Scorpion? From those that have had both the MKIV and VQ does one seem to be more reliable, robust, less fragile, or less finicky with ammo selection?

Wheelsonly, I have a JPE 22lr upper on order waiting to ship. Not to derail the thread but...since they are all JP 22lr upper questions. What forend are you using? What ammo does it prefer? Have you had any issues with your trigger setting off the RF ammo? Thanks!

Does anyone have experience with either or both the SLR or Zez Glock Gen 5 mag wells? Which do you prefer and why? I beleive Zev has two Gen 5 mag wells. One is a bit more compact. Is this correct?

I have heard the Gen 5 triggers are almost as nice as the older Gen 3 triggers. If I wanted to stay with a Glock connector and trigger bar what else could be done to improve the factory trigger pull? Swap (.) connector for (-)? Swap to a Wolff 5lb striker spring? Polish all wear surfaces? Other suggestions? Thanks!

I use a piece of rubber band between the breach face and barrel hood. I cut rubber band into 1/2" to 1" sections. Use as thin and flat a piece as I can and still keep it out of battery so the striker doesn't fall.

What is the “Sate of the Union” on the current best AR triggers out for 3 gun and DMR type matches? Trigger Tech Geissele SSA-E Geissele Hi Speed NM AR Gold JP Revolution Others? What is the current favorite? Two or single stage? Trigger weight preference (estimate)? Flat or curved trigger? I assume a lot is just personal preference.

Thank you all for the replies! It sounds like the NC uppers sure run! That is quite a bit of 22lr ammo in a short period of time and they are dirty. I think the new NC uppers use Wilson barrels. CLE uses Douglas for most builds as does Acc Speaks. JP isn't saying who's barrels they are using. If you all could do it over again what company would you use? Doesn't sound like you can go wrong with any of them.

Bill, those are impressive groups at 100yd. It is a little unnerving that the JP starts to choke after just 100rds. What trigger are you running and has it been reliable with the 22lr?

With the 22lr tending to be very dirty and gunk up the action faster than centerfire what kind of cleaning schedule do you have? Just shoot it until it chokes then scrape and scrub out the gunk? Do you just use a bore snake every few hundred rounds for the barrel?

Ming, what ammo are you running? If you wanted to run a two stage trigger in the NC upper what would you try first? Thanks!

Bagdrag, any idea why the Geissele trigger did not run well in the upper? I have heard that hammers with a flat strike face and not curved work best. Buy to be honest I'm not sure which triggers have which. That is good to hear that the NC runs well with the CCI SV and Tac.
