CPUFIXER
I'm thinking of entering my Sig X-5 9mm in a Limited match but I'd like not to shoot minor. Are there any factory 9mm loads that would make a major? Thanks in advance, Chris N. Huntersville, NC TY-59887
grandbagger
for limited 40 cal to make major. you can use 9mm for minor scores. 9mm will score major in open guns though
Jeff686
Sorry, You can't shoot 9mm as Major in Limited. Minimum caliber for Limited Major is .40 Open is the only division that allows Major 9mm.
sci
You can use 9mm major in revolver also Steve

Kingman
Shoot major, check the open box, and run lawman sxt 127 loads. They do it.

Merlin Orr
Shoot major, check the open box, and run lawman sxt 127 loads. They do it. They make MAJOR in my 6" Benny Built. I want to do this very thing just for grins......
Kingman
Honestly last time I saw any was at a local store up where I used to live. Finding them online may be rough because I think they are LEO ammo. There is another load that I have heard about but never seen also. I will search around today for it. Kingman
Yeh Doug, as you can see from most the results I was having a rough day of gun playing havoc on me. Ok, so here are the details It is the Ranger sxt ammunition from winchester. Most people chrono it at 1270 out of a 4" bbl. it is a 127 grain bullet. Out of a 5" it suppsoedly just makes it. This is what leatham was shooting for years. Edited August 7, 2007 by Kingman
Keith
I've purchased the Ranger 127 +P+ LEO ammo from these guys before. http://ammunitiontogo.com/catalog/product_...products_id=660 As I recall it makes major out of my Glock 34 and not quite major, but real close, out of my Glock 17. I think it was about even out of my G26 and P7M8 at about 156 PF. Don't recall if I tried the G19. My notes are somewhere at home. I didn't have the seeds to try it in my Kahr PM9. Kingman
Keith that coincides with the info I can gather. You have to have a 5" barrel to get it there.
Suburban Commando
Keith that coincides with the info I can gather. You have to have a 5" barrel to get it there. Double Tap makes at least one load with Gold Dots that make major. Ranger used to be cheaper from the guy who sold on the GlockTalk classifieds, it might still be. blkbrd
A 9mm Limited gun at 190 PF is still not major. Same thing with .357 SIG, 9x21, 9x23, ext. Takes a .40 cal min. at 165+ Shoot 125PF ammo at minor, get your hits and have fun. Shooting super pricey ammo will just restrict your practice and hurt your improvement.
