cant find info on certain OAL

Guy's, I need some help please. I need the OAL for .40 180gr. TCFM Zero bullets. I normally load 180 JHP but a friend wants me to load for him and he brought me over the TCFM's instead of the JHP's. I normally load to 1.115 do I stick with that for the TCFM's?

Have you measured the two bullets to determine if they are the same length?

If they are the same length and same weight then it will make no real difference. If the bullets your friend brought you are longer then you could potentially create additional pressure by loading to the same length.

1.115 is a little shorter than most factory. Are you loading ot this length for feeding reliability?

1.115 is what the Lymann book shows for a 180 JHP. The TCFM is shorter then the FMJ.

1.115 is one the short side. Which, at 40 Major, increases pressure. Pressure in high enough in the 40 to start with.

What gun(s) are you loading for (yours and his) ?

Loading for a Glock 22. Minor not major.

I don't know anyone loading .40 shorter than 1.135 even for minor and most of the Glockers I know load out to 1.140-1.150 even with minor loads and factory barrels.

Here are a couple of my favorite minor loads. These were for my HK.

180gr Ranier FP - 3.3 gr TiteGroup OAL - 1.152 = PF 135

165pg Ranier FP - 4.0 gr TiteGroup OAL - 1.152 = PF 133

All the data I have says 1.135 for a by the book load.
