TDean
I was gonna attend, but something came up. Hopefully "PK" (Pat Kelley) will chime in here soon....... What I liked about it was they were gona have a seperate "pump gun" catagory. I just hate going against those fancy semi-autos with my Mossberg 590-A1 w/surefire taclight! titandriver
Stu --- from Tom Neth: it was a great match with really good, fun stages, including some *appearing/dis-appearing eight inch plate targets. A shotgun "El Prez" as well as a standards stage. Approximately 150 rounds in one day. Dave Neth won, either Pat or Shawn Carlock was second/third, with Carl Carbon fourth. J. Wall shot but he didn't say where he finished.
PK
A little info on the Practical Shotgun Challenge. 7 stages; 4 field courses and 2 speed shoots and a standard exersise. 136 rounds of shot and 14 slugs minimum to complete. 36 shooters; 4 pump, 9 open and the balance limited class. ISP Trooper David Neth shot a nearly flawless (he was great to watch) match and won Limited overall. (he also was HOA combined!) Shawn Carlock of Defensive Edge gunsmithing was 2nd Limited with Jim Wall 3rd. Adam Mcintosh and Carl Carbon placed 4th and 5th. In Open Robert Johnson won that match with Penn Weaver close behind and Lalo Landers in 3rd. I shot a couple of stages but spent my time with a camera and taking care of the match. The slug "El Prez" was cool to watch. We have all shot a hundred of those over the years but running it with slugs was something else again. We had a 26 round house clearing stage with 2 slugs to start. Shotgun alley was a 29 round run and gun with a pair of clays. We ran a version of the classifier "gauntlet" as well as a stage from the Texas Limited championships "mini gun broke". I heard a lot of positive comments from the shooters (I have selective hearing) some of which traveled 300+ MILES to come play. I think I will run it again next year. actionshooter
Pat, I would have loved to come to the match but it was the opener of deer season in Wa. I drove to Spokane and took a hard left to Colville. Maybe next year! Steve
TDean
36 shooters, that's pretty good for an ALL SHOTGUN MATCH! Maybe we'll see them pictures in Front-Site Paddy? David's a terror with a shotgun! It's comforting to see LEOs with exceptional gun handling skills.
PK
Yes, pictures and a story in FS. Robin Taylor covered the match and will tell all. I was happy with 36 for a first event but with you and actionshooter next year (with friends of course) we will make it a real match! FYI TD Tri Cities is having a 3 gun this Sunday.
