Revopop
I've got an S&W 14-3 on layaway, and I'll be buying an M64 after that for USPSA Revolver. The 14-3 will be used with light target loads, but I also am going to need a recipe for a load that will make Minor power factor. I use VV N320 in my .45ACP, and I'd like to use that for the .38 if I can, since I've already got it. I mostly reload for economy, so I'll probably load lead bullets. The ones that are readily available locally are Shooter's Connection 148gr. Wadcutters and 158gr. Round Nose. Any suggestions or "pet" loads would be greatly appreciated! RePete
I can't get Viht powders but I use 4.3gr Bullseye with the 158gr LSWC in plated cases. PF = 132 This is in a 686. RePete. Edited December 29, 2006 by RePete

Dang, I get 840 fps from a 4" gun using 4.1 grains of BE with a 158 grain RNL. Must be a slow barrel. The most accurate data I've found for .38 Special and lead bullets in that in Speer's current #13 manual. They list 5.4 grains of VV350 as giving 901 fps from a 6" M14 (+P load). I usually end up about 50 fps under the velocity they list using my 4" guns.
