Glock Magazine Variations

Apparently, Glock is now up to 7 in magazine variations. Have been unable to find out what the differences are & the significance of the variations. Must have been some good reason for Glock to make the changes. Would some of the more learned care to enlighten the rest of us (me)?? The NFML & 10 rounders are pretty obvious & are of little interest.

I never had a problem with any of them. I do like the latest #6 or #7 in .40 as they really jump out of the gun.

All I know is the new/used LEO mags I'm getting from CDNN with #4 & #5 followers are not tapered like the current mags (G22/35).

With new mags I can't get 20 rounds with extended mags, but the older mags will take 20 with spring/follower tweaking.

Sounds like ya'll are like me. Suppose it doesn't really matter as all variations work but would still like to know what the various changes were.
