chi
With shooters using 40 for Open. And with the cost of brass I can see why. Why not shoot 357 Sig? Brass is very reasonable. Pressures are safer with the hotter loads. Use can use 9mm bullets. Why not?
shred
Probably for most of the same reasons nobody shoots 9x25 Dillon anymore-- Bottleneck cases are a pain to reload, you need to get just the right bullets, and you're down rounds over a Super. Scooter
Bottleneck cartridges have one other problem if you reload. Multiple reloading weakens the neck. You might get a neck separation, which would be a tough jam to clear in the middle of competition.
shred
I never saw that with my 9x25-- usually the cases would crack or get too long way before that. What would occasionally happen is some tumbling media would get in with the loaded rounds and end up in the shoulder-part of the chamber-- major jams trying to clear that out.
