Race gun mags

What kind of mag capacity can you get out of the different framed Open guns?

Caspain?

STI?

SVI?

Para?

Springfield?

etc. ?

STI with the new Grams basepads/spring/follower will get you 29 reliably.  Some have been able to put 30 in them.  My SV tube with the same inards will only allow 28.

which base pads are you using? 2.5mm, 4mm?

With the Craig 170mm for Caspian hi-cap, I can get 26 if I use supercomp brass.  140mm I can get 24, and 19 for the standard.  Sometimes that one extra round is important.  josh

SS - I think they're 2.5 on my 170mm and 4mm on the 140.  The 140mm mags hold 23 reliably.

I've since learned that in order to get this capacity and have it be reliable that Beven needs to tune the mags also - so it is not a "cheap" process to get those extra rounds.  But IMHO, it was WELL worth it!

Beven has a 4mm and a modified follower for the 170mm STI/SV tubes.  Somtimes the feed lips need to be filed down a little bit to make it fit in the Official EGW mag measuring device.  I get 29 in the mag plus one in the chamber.  No problems so far.  I have heard of a couple shooters that get 30 in the mag.
