ihatepickles
Caspian makes good steel, but the high cap magazines are scarce. By scarce I mean completely unavailable unless you find someone with used mags that no longer wants them. Dirtypool40 (a user here on be.com) asked people to touch base with him to gauge whether it'd be worth everyone's time to have a run of Caspian high-cap mags run at a facility in Spain. If you're stuck on the Caspian you should contact him for the info. My frame choice would be STI.
Adam B
I agree with ihatepickles, Caspian's are nice but the mags are next to impossible to find. I just built a limited gun on an STI platform and I could be happier.

Interceptor
Another option if you want a steel frame is to buy a Springfield Hi-Cap .45, strip it for the frame and sell off the rest. The frame will take Para Hi-Cap mags, or if you get the mag release modified, it will take STI/SV hi-caps. Just an idea. Might look like this http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...eel+limited+gun Definitely endores AFTEC's for the extractor. And also the C&S Ignition kits. Harmon
extreme engineering hammer, sear and disconnectors. dawson hyperdrive Firing pin regular barstock extractor....i dont need aftec. I would go with a STI slide and schuemann bull barrel if your into bull barrels. Kart in you want a bushing barrel. Virgil tripp for chrome. buddy_fuentes
There is not much doubt about the STI type frame. Not a big difference in price between it and some of the other frames that are available. Save money in other areas if you are trying to coast through on a tight budget...buy the Storm Lake Barrel. They make bbls. for some of your name brand pistols and they are pretty darn good. Face it, most of the shots in a match are fairly close and real tight precision is not needed. When you get a few bucks extra you can have another barrel fitted. Most of the other parts should be easy for you to pick the right one. Good Luck, Buddy
