kmca
Has anybody tried using Winchester 296 in 38 super? It would be nice since I have a couple of kegs of it laying around.
Harmon
i couldnt get enough in my super to get major power...much less over 150 pf. could have been all them ports in the barrel not letting it build pressure, but with a 124 grain JHP, i was at 14 something grains and compressed and still minor...though really soft. kmca
Bring back an old post with more questions and hopefully more answers. Is there any use for the 296 besides magnum and .410 shotshells? I've still got those kegs. I'd like something in 380, 38, 38 super, 40 or 45 preferably minor power factor. Thanks again. Guest
WW296 = H-110 Here is a post about H-110 in .38 super that might give you some ideas: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58410 Got 9x25? Had a similar situation when I discovered a forgotten 10lb can of WW540 and wasn't sure what to do with it. I found a use for it, though. (WW540 = HS-6)

Intel6
It also works well in .458 SOCOM! Neal in AZ
56hawk
Only problem with 296/H110 is it can get inconsistant when downloaded. As long as you are over 25,000 psi or so with a hot primer you should be fine. I had some 454 casull loads that were showing an extreme spread of over 400 fps. Bumped up the powder charge and the problems went away. If you have QuickLoad you can run some predictions to see if you would be in a usable pressure and velocity range with the rounds you want to use.
