North
Been shooting USPSA for aboout 2.5 years now in L-10. I'm making a change this spring. Help me decide between Limited or Open.
AikiDale
Limited is just like L-10 but with fewer reloads. Borrow a friends open blaster after your next match and shoot a stage or two before helping to tear down and see what you think.
fastgun
Do as AikiDale tells you. I've startet in IPSC 10 years ago in Standard (Ltd), keept it going for 6 months. And went straight over to Open. And I'm staying there! USPSA/IPSC = love to shoot alot, fast and accurate Open are faster, easyer to hit with (still have to know how to shoot thou) and max 1 reload pr. stage (97% of the stages atleast). It's the Formula 1 of shooting I'll belive!
Genghis
Shoot limited if you want to work on sight alignment and reloads. Shoot Open if you'd rather concentrate on trigger control, and not have to worry about as many details.
blkbrd
Would you prefer to race Nascar or formula 1? I had a limited gun built after shooting L10 for a year, then a year later fell into an open gun, now I wont/dont shoot my limited gun unless I am practicing for 3-gun Tac. class. I love the speed and the lower shooting cost 9mm of my open gun. Dont buy the crud about how real men shoot limited or any of that bull. Its the same story as thats tactical and thats not. Or I love the one about I want to shoot what I carry? That only flies if you a cop or in the sandbox.
warpspeed
Would you prefer to race Nascar or formula 1? Or perhaps you prefer dirt track sprint cars - in which case revolver it is ! But to answer your original question, I'd go Limited. I find that when I shoot open I pay far less attention to the fundamentals and rely on the dot to guide my path LOL !!! The problem is the dot won't do it all.
