Carmoney
Once again, I'm very pleased that when 90+% of us saw an opportunity to adjust the division equipment rules to allow for more participation in Revolver Division in USPSA, our recommendations were included just exactly as we requested. I want to publicly thank Gary Stevens for taking the initiative to get this done for us. Not only did Gary participate here in this thread, but he took the time to communicate with me privately to express his support for Revolver Division. With the more expansive equipment rules now part of the new rule book to take effect in 2008, I anticipate continued growth in interest and participation in USPSA Revolver. Once again, Gary, thanks for carrying the water for us wheelgunners!
hopalong
I too want to thank Gary for his efforts and championing our cause. He also talked to me personally about this subject last year at A-8. Hop

fdkay
Has there ever been any consideration to having an open revolver classification? I used to shoot my 8 shooter frequently, I just shot in open because I was there for fun. There are a lot of 7 and 8 shot revolvers out there, and that extra one or two rounds can really make a big difference and I think you may get more participation. There are a lot of 7 and 8 shot revolvers out there, and that extra one or two rounds can really make a big difference and I think you may get more participation. That has certainly been discussed. I think the consensus is that when we have enough revo shooters to ensure the division's survival, it could be a viable proposal. As it stands, with current numbers, the question comes up regularly at BOD meetings about closing the division down for low participation. Many of us are concerned that an "Open Revolver" division would create another division with even smaller participation. Note however that you can shoot your 8 shooter in Production and that Bubber made "A" class with his Open division revolver against bottom feeders while shooting minor. So get out there and run it. fdkay
unfortunetly, my eight shooter is a taurus, so it is compensated. Not as nice as a smith, but for 350 bucks, a lot of gun. I was lusting afer a 627, but couldn't bring myself to part with that much cash.
