38 Super Comp Laods With True Blue

Recommended Posts

Due to lack of availibility and pricing of VV 3n38, I am changing to Ramshot True Blue in my 38 Super Comp. Any load information would be appreciated. My pistol is S/V Infinity IMM with 3 holes in the barrel and a 5 port (3 top and 2 side) comp. I am using Zero 125 JHP Bullets and Win SRP.

Thanks

Howdy,

I've got a 38TJ load with Zero 125 JHP & WSR primer,

8.6 gr True Blue. Chrono av 1391 fps out of a Dawson Mini-gun Stroker, no ports in barrel Dawson #2 comp. Actually I load the same in 38 SuperComp as well. Ramshot Silhouette is a good powder, Dason recommends IMR 4756, but the case is full and I don't like having to slow down on the 1050 to avoid spilled powder. Shred likes IMR 7625 W/ Hornady HAP bullets, 121 jhp I think.

Here is what I chrono'ed out of my Tribrid (note: extra barrel holes)

Bullet: ZERO 115 gr hollowpoint

True Blue 9.4gr OAL 1.185 1460fps avg 166.7 PF

Shoots pretty fast and flat. Little high on the pressure side.

I tried the same thing and was getting primer flow. I don,t think I can come up with a good load for the SC with this gun. I will just use the powder in my Wilson 1911 38 super and S&W 38 super revolver. I'ii just bite the bullet and use 3n38.

Thanks

for the info
