atek3
So Bushnell makes a laser rangefinding riflescope, why don't USO, S&B, Leupold, or Swar? It would be nice to have your basic elevation dope memorized, range the target, and use system like the horus to make hits without having to take your eyes off the target. atek3
smokshwn
Cuz most of the LRF's from bushnell are not much more than a toy. Most of the Bushnell, Nikon, et al LRF's only work under near ideal conditions. So they probably figure why not put it in a scope and sell a zillion of them to folks who don't know any better. There is a reason that Leica Geovids cost $1500, and the Swaro and Leica LRF's alone are in the $5-800 range. That is because they work. So anytime you start takeing primo optics + primo laser technology that actually performs things become expensive and complicated rather quickly. Also from a functional use standpoint (think actual sniper use) it means you are pointing a weapon at everything you lase, which in actuality one may not always want to do as well as you may have a spotter doing your ranging while you are doing the shooting. Take care, Craig
Zak Smith
For locating, ranging, and engaging multiple targets quickly, I doubt anything is as fast as having a partner spotter with a set of LRF binoculars communicating with the shooter.
