Maximis228 Posted June 5, 2023 Share Posted June 5, 2023 (edited) Attended my first all steel match at the Spartan 300 at the World Shooting Recreational Complex in Sparta IL. This match has both Individual and team events. Match Format Individual Match 10 Stages 26 Targets Per Stage [25 Steel = 1 point & Bonus plate = 5 Points (shape of a spartan helmet)] 300 Points Available Time Plus Scoring (Need to hit all 300 to be in contention to win your division). Team Format 4 Person Team 4 Stages (2 solo + 2 team) Fastest overall time wins. Stages were very interesting with a mix of targets (3-12 inches) at varying distances (10-40 Yards). Some mover targets (Bobbers, Stars, Swingers, and Swinging Plateracks). Overall, the match was fantastic and plan to come back in future years. My only real complaint was one prop (Swinging platerack) wasn't super consistent shooter to shooter. Some plates fell on their own from the violent swinging action (Some received 5 free plates while others didn't get any). I shot with staff on Friday, so this may have been cleaned up for the rest of the competitors. My Results - 258/260 Plates - Score of 298/300. 348 seconds and change overall.
