1911jerry
I am starting to reload 300 black out. I was gifted a 3 die set of Redding dies. It appears to have 2 dies which deprime. One appreas to be a neck die, the other one is a full length sizing die. Does the neck die also size the cases, or just the neck area? Thanks
Guy Neill
Neck sizing dies typically do not size the case body, or only minimally. For cases coming from a known gun (chamber) neck sizing can work well. For cases of unknown origin, it's likely better to full length size.
Guy Neill
You may also note that for a semi-auto it may offer better reliability to always full length size.
