Henning +2 basepad installation

I tried Youtube, searching here and calling Henning.  How do you get the +2 basepads to snap into place?  They fit side to side and slide on easily, but I can't see how to pop the lip over the back of the magazine....

 

Anybody already figured this out before I break out the hammer?

They install going from the back to front of the magazine. The retention pin will be in front. If you have to pop the lip over the back of the mag, you’re doing it wrong.

They install back to front with the retention pin in front. If you’re have to pop the lip over the back of the mag, you’re doing it wrong.

I didn't realize the pin was a detent, I thought it was a stationary peg.

Just know you’re not the only one to make that mistake. Seen it a few times on the forum and locally as well.
