Optic cut/plate cut for sv slide

Does anyone know of an optics plate cut that is compatible with the removable breech face on an sv slide? Just looking at some of the companies offering this cut, most seem to be in the same general area of the breech face cut.

Unless something has changed, when SV makes a slide ride optic  slide, they use a wider slide and cut a nest in the slide for the optic.  Not saying you can't cut the slide you have........

Yep, they do. Anyone ever cut a standard width sv slide with a bomar dovetail and removable breech face?

Have not done it.  But it would depend on what plate you're planning to run and the dimensions of the cut.  Also, whether your slide has the extractor mounted in the breach face. If it's the old style with a conventional extractor, you should be able ok cutting into the aft portion of the breach face/insert if necessary.  Or, better yet, get an optic with small footprint (like a Shield RMSc) and direct mount it.

The slide I have measures approx. 2.080" from the top/rear surface of the slide to where the insert cut is.  Depending on what optic you use, that should give you plenty of room for a mount plate without getting into the breach face insert.

I was planning on an sro/rmr foot print. Most of the plates I’ve seen incorporate some type of dovetail for co witnessing irons. Seeing how this would be a gamer gun and not tactical, are there any plates that would accommodate that space?

The AOS plate on my Prodigy measures 2.185.  So, that would cut into the breach face insert.  Not sure what else is available, but if you can find a plate that's under 2.00", it should work.

That will work if you want to pass on the BUIS.  But that particular design I don't really care for the corner posts.  If you want to skip the BUIS, maybe look at the AOS plate and mill off the sight mount.  I think that would be a better arrangement.

Got the slide back, it’s the accuracy x/mpa single lug. Had to go a little more fwd than I would have liked do to a previous sight cut. All in all not too bad.
