AzShooter
I decided to bring my Smith & Wesson 617 to the range this week along with my Black Mamba. I had a lot of fun shooting it. I've shot revolvers for USPSA, ICORE and Steel Challenge for years but recently switched to a Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite and Volquartsen Black Mamba. I'm having a lot of fun but I'm spending a lot of time clearing jams. That is a real way to get ride of a good string. I decided to set up my 617 with stock sighs and to shoot RFPI for a least the next few matches. As I said, I really like shooting Revolvers better and my times were better for years with the Smith. I've cleaned it, installed an Apex Tactical Mass Drive Hammer, did a trigger job and set the action to 7 pounds. It appears to be running most excellently with Federal HV, BYOB and CCI Blazers. I'm using DS-10 Speed Loaders and loading blocks with enough to get me though a match. I have 15 loaders and 300 rounds in loading block so I think I'm ready;
old558
very nice, I really like revolvers also and like you tend to shoot them better. Someday I would like to set up 617. Best of luck
