Sounds like the cases aren't getting sized down far enough. The FCD won't help this, the U die will. Or you can go cheapest way and grind or turn your sizing die down so it sizes further down the case.

So...is it the barrel won't chamber the rounds, or the rounds will not fit into the barrel?

Makes a lot of difference.....either the issue is the barrel or the rounds.

Lee Dies at Midway

For 5 bucks more than the EGW "U" die, you can buy a 4 die set of Lee dies. Lee makes the "U" die for EGW. The standard 4 die set of Lee dies will size the case far enough down to prevent feeding problems. The set also comes with the FCD to post size the round. I have had great results with this setup in both .40 and 9mm. I can't remember the last time a round failed the gauge. The "U" die works well but I had some problems with the bullet bulging the case and causing it to fail the gauge.
