cjmill87
Currently shooting a Glock 17 for Carry Optics and looking at legal ways to add some weight to the frame. As of the 2018 rules, App D7 22.2 says " external plugs which alter the grip profile or extend past the bottom of the grip are PROHIBITED. External plugs which do not alter the grip profile (flush fit) are specifically allowed." I have a brass mag well plug that I'm looking to alter to fit the rule, based on these photos if I cut below the white line wouldn't this be legal? I'm specifically trying to make sure that it does not extend past the bottom of the grip as I don't believe this plug alters the grip profile. Any thoughts or experience would be greatly appreciated. HI5-O
You might also have to trim the part that extends below the back strap too. That should make the plug match the profile of the grip. Edited November 18, 2018 by HI5-O

HI5-O
Since it sticks out, I believe that fits the definition of an altered profile. Trimming that end flush would, in my opinion, match the profile of the grip.
