A friend and myself want to get into IPSC shooting in the DFW area. I live in Keller, just north of Ft. Worth. If anyone could give me any contact names or any info on the IPSC type clubs in the area I would greatly appreciate it! :D

Also, I know this isn't a cowboby action site  but does anyone know any contacts for any CAS type shooting in the area or a web page for cowboy action shooting, or even a forum like this one that would list clubs, contacts, etc.?

Thanks,

Bob

Not sure if this will help, but start with this: http://www.uspsatexassecnorth.org/

That's the list of the DFW area IPSC matches, and then there are plenty more in the "East Texas" section, too. http://www.texaseastsection.org/

As far as the cowboy action thing goes:

Good luck!

The Doubletap Ranch in Wichita Falls, TX shoots IPSC - while it is about 1.5 to 2 hours north of you, we do get a lot of DFW shooters up this way. 2nd Sun and 4th Sat, 9:30 start time - USPSA, usually 6 stages 150 rounds.

If you like shooting steel the Dallas Pistol Club does steel matches every 3rd and 4th weekend....

There are a few IDPA clubs in DFW, but if you want outdoor IPSC you'll have to drive to Tyler, Waco, Wichita Falls, Ferris etc.....

A number of shooters from the DFW area also travel down to Waco on the 3rd Saturday of every month. Central Texas Rifle and Pistol puts on one hell of a match there. You will also find an interesting assortment of shooters from all over central texas there. People travel from as far away as Houston to shoot their match.

Here is the link to their website. http://www.ctrpc.com/

The DFW area is hurting for ipsc/uspsa. Wichita, Waco, and a monthly shoot at a Jonson Co. range are all I know of. Doesn't make any sense to me. There is some IDPA. The only person I know that shoots cowboy also shoots idpa with the dallas bunch at DallasIDPA.com Later is better than never
