Good idea. I discovered using no cleaner seemed better.  If you get the crud wet it has a way of just moving around.  If you leave it dry it just shaves off.

Just scrap PVC and ! Hot the end with a rasp file.

Good idea.  I may have actually  got most off unintentionally the first few strokes while I was fitting it.
