shurt
Bought a Lone Wolf 9mm with a 10 ½" upper and decided to change the handguard myself which is why I'm now having to ask questions! In a normal 556 upper, there is a hole for the gas tube to go through however with the blow back system, Lone Wolf used a pin from the handguard nut, barrel nut, into the uppers gas hole. The pin appears to be proprietary to the handguard Lone Wolf uses ... its very long and longer than I need for my new handguard . Do I need to use this pin to close the uppers gas hole? Where would I get a smaller pin? Last, let me apologize for my lack on PCC knowledge. I thought changing the handguard would be quick and easy. Scott Link to comment
Nugget
I just left my gas tube port empty when I built my pcc. No purpose for it on a blow back system. Link to comment

robertg5322
You don't need the pin but it will serve to keep the barrel nut from coming loose. I had that happen, not a huge deal but something to ponder. Link to comment
Nugget
Torque it to at least min specs and it won't come loose. I have yet to have one loosen up but, I guess it could happen. Link to comment
Marshal82
Most new handguards have to be indexed and have a lug to keep them from getting loose and coming off. Link to comment
