Ryanjg
I installed a Henning trigger and extended firing pin and polished internals keep in mind this is only the 2nd time I've attempted trigger work and the other being a CZ. I have a dumb question everything works great with mag out if I insert an empty mag the slide release moves and and causes a bind when I rack the slide. Is this normal I haven't loaded the magazine yet with live rounds can't get to a range for a few days and don't have any dummy rounds.
MemphisMechanic
The follower should push the slide stop upward when the magazine is empty, and when you rack the slide in addition to the drag you feel... the slide will lock back at the rear. Ryanjg
When I pulled the slide you can watch the slide release tilt up on the outside of the frame if you pull hard enough you can get the slide to go all the way back and then when the side comes forward it doesn't go all the way forward just likes a little but you can push it forward all of this with an empty magazine . If I could go shoot the gun in a few days I would to test it's just bothering me not knowing if all is good. I guess I've never pulled the slide back with an empty magazine on this gun before. johnbu
?? You mean the slide locks back with an empty mag inserted? If so, that's how it's supposed to work. Have you owned many other pistols? Just curious.

01Deuce
Read the above linked thread. I have the same issue.
Ryanjg
I read your post I did remove the mag release during installation of trigger and put it back in on same side if I put pressure on the top back of the slide release it won't tilt up. If this is normal for this gun I'm fine with it just was trying to trouble shoot
Ryanjg
Johnbu yes I own a lot if pistols just trying to figure out why my slide release is moving when I rack the slide on an empty magazine. The rear of the release on the outside of the frame actually goes up on the outside of the slide when pulling back only with an empty magazine
01Deuce
Is the mag follower catching under the slide release or slipping to the side and forcing the slide release out and up ?
Ryanjg
I'm not for sure I will check tonight the slide release just moves up and not out I believe. As soon as I move the slide the release goes up.
MemphisMechanic
It is supposed to! The slide release being pushed upward by the follower? That is what locks the gun open on the last shot in every handgun you own.
Ryanjg
That's what I assumed just wanted to make sure thanks guys. By the way the Henning flat trigger is great well worth the $
